is filled with the finest quality 550 fill power white goose down. Down provides superior, lightweight insulation. The down traps the warm air helping to maintain a comfortable, warm body temperature. Down is a like a soft fluff, very different and much more costly than feathers and without any quills to poke through. High end outerwear for people as well as comforters and pillows are often filled with down because of the wonderful comfort it provides. The larger clusters provide a higher fill power, which means they have a higher loft and provide better insulation. They also last longer than smaller, less expensive clusters and blends found in inferior products. We use 550 fill power in all our down doggie coats. Compare our coats to some copy cat coats out there.  Our coats are proudly made here in the US (previously in Canada) and have never been manufactured in China.  We use high quality white goose down, not inexpensive feather blends and we cover the hip area.  Can anyone else say that?  Nope!

There are many different qualities of down. We use only white goose down from Pacific Coast Feather Company and Feather Industries, the same companies that supply down to many exclusive people product companies. Pacific Coast hypercleans the down with cleansers developed specifically for Pacific Coast, not with harsh chemical cleaners used by others. Feather Industries uses an extensive cleaning process far exceeding industry standards and uses an on site testing lab to ensure exceptional quality. This means that the down is pure and clean with no funky odors or allergens.

Reversible, Flexible Fit and Exclusive Design

Our Goose Down filled Doggie coats are reversible.  Choose to show the fleece side or the water resistant nylon side on the Original Style Goose Down Coat or either great color on the Goose Down Coat with the Removable hood and Reflective Trim. Either way they'll look and feel great. We didn't skimp on the Velcro on each tab, so you have lots of wiggle room to customize the fit for your pet. Our design revolutionized canine couture in such a big way we were granted two US patents on our coats - 6,662,754B1 and D479,896S to be exact! So while others have tried to imitate, no one else has the Joy Pet Products fit, construction or quality.  Look carefully at where their coats are made and what they are made of.

We've always manufactured our down coats in the US and Canada - never in China. Beginning in 2010 all of our Goose Down FIlled Coats like the rest of the items we make are made right here in the US.  This is truly a very high quality coat made by the same people in the same state of the art facilities that manufacture very high-end clothing and sportswear - think Olympic team uniforms, big designer names and high end catalogs. And the rumor is that Joy Pet Products is more particular about how out line is made than some big designer names - really big designer names!

Fuller Coverage Most other coats are cut higher on the hips and back, with virtually no lower back and hip coverage. Joy Pet Products coats give far more coverage around the hips because we know this keeps dogs warmer in the cold weather.
